Thankyou to my mom & dad for watching the girls! This was our first time leaving Eliana & the longest amount of time leaving Samantha. But the girls did well & we were excited to get back to them! Hopefully this weekend I will get the pictures from the girls time with Nana & Papa while we were gone.

The island of Oahu is 90 miles in circumference- it took us an hour & a half to drive the coast! Since the island is not too large but the 4 major cities are chock full of people- most get around in these suped up mopeds...notice the Hello Kitty!
My first night there were fireworks in Waikiki.
This is Kaneohe Bay- were 50 first dates supposedly took place. Cute movie! There is also a macadamia farm & orchid farm here; as well as the island's only horse ranch. (We are standing looking at the bay from the mountains.)

I loved the dramatic look of this mountain. My dad joked that of course we would go to Hawaii & spend our time in the mountains instead of on the beach!
Chickens were wild on Oahu. They were everywhere.
We had to check out the North Shore- from Dec to April they have the infamous 30 foot waves; we got to chill with sea turtles at the North Shore
I only got Lance to pose here for Samantha- she is VERY into Nemo right now & flipped when I showed her this pic of momma & daddy with Crush.
The Dole plantation pineapple fields. They also have cocoa & banana fields on Oahu.
When in Rome....!
We visited Pearl Harbor. This is the USS Arizona memorial. I never grasped the actual numbers here. 1170 died on the Arizona alone & 2490 total in the Pearl Harbor bombing; making it the largest death for us until 9/11. You can see the Arizona just below the surface of the water. The big white memorial doesn't touch the battleship at all.
The Arizona's actual anchor was salvaged.

The 'Mighty Mo' (USS Missouri)
