To celebrate Lance & I went to the top of Mount Evans. Don't worry we drove instead of hiking! That's right, Samantha was on the top of her first 14'er! At the top we checked out Lance's spotting scope that he got for Christmas; it's amazing what you can see from the top of a 14000+ mountain with a spotting scope! We hung out on Mount Evans for a while then drove into Idaho Springs & had lunch. Idaho Springs was decked out for their fireworks display so we decided to walk around town. On our way home we drove through Central City & BlackHawk since I had never been there before. We ended the day with dinner with my parents. It was a very relaxing and pleasant day! We saw a ton of wildlife yesterday including a buffalo herd on our drive up, mountain goats (& their babies), marmots, deer....
